The Resilience to Lead, The Faith to Serve.

Faith, Family, and Freedom for Oklahoma

Candidate for House District 69 Cody Nichols with his family at a zoo

Cody Nichols is a testament to the Oklahoma spirit of resilience.  Born in Tulsa, he returned home after serving as an air traffic controller in the Marine Corps.  While that season of life brought a personal struggle with alcohol, it ultimately led to a radical transformation through his determination and unwavering faith in God.  Since then, Cody successfully managed the construction of multi-million dollar hotels, and he has used those skills as a small business owner here in Tulsa.  He is now pursuing a law degree and is a devoted husband and father of three children who attend school at Tulsa Classical Academy and Jenks Southeast.  His wife is a family medicine doctor working at In His Image Residency program, which has given him a unique perspective into the challenges of providing compassionate healthcare within our broken system.  Together they serve at BattleCreek Church and faith is the driving influence in Cody's life.

Cody has a calling to ensure our district remains a place where families can thrive, parents can be proud of their school system, and the next generation of Oklahomans can find abundant opportunity.  This prosperous future is only possible through limiting government oversight, lowering taxes, increasing personal responsibility, and ensuring political integrity.  Stand with Cody Nichols to stand for our future.

Key Issues

Protecting Faith

The strength of Oklahoma rests on a strong moral foundation.  This requires defending religious liberties, preserving the sanctity of life, and the unwavering protection of the unborn at every stage.  My wife is a physician who lives out these principles in her medical practice. I will defend the rights of conscience of medical practitioners like her and join them in protecting the most vulnerable.

Empowering Families

Ensuring every child in Oklahoma has the tools to succeed is vital for our state's future.  This requires strengthening the educational system by implementing school district accountability, eliminating wasteful spending, increasing compensation for teachers, and providing academic screenings and interventions for children.  We must also increase the Parental Choice Tax Credit so that each family has the freedom to select the educational setting which aligns most with their values.

Defending Freedom

True freedom can only be experienced when we return to the inerrant rights, such as the Second Amendment, which are guaranteed by our Constitution.  I am committed to limiting government overreach and demanding efficiency and transparency.  It is time to ensure leaders are accountable to their constituents instead of serving their own interests.

We MUST give our children the education system that they deserve if we have any hope of becoming a state that businesses want to do business in and call home. Our children deserve a quality education, our citizens deserve the employment opportunities, our future rests in listening to our educators cries and providing the systemic relief that is needed.

Oklahoma Schools:

1998-2011: the student population grew by 6%, while the administrative staff rose by 49%.
2011-2024: the student population rose by 5%, while the administration staff rose by 20%

Between 1998 & 2025, the Oklahoma school system hired around 6700 new staff, and only about 600 of those were teachers (less than 10%). In OKC specifically, Administrative staff spending has been 11 times more than spending that affects the classroom. While our children struggle, our education system has not seemed concerned about how to ensure every child has the opportunity and resources necessary to succeed.

Our teachers need a raise. Teachers need to be able to provide what is needed for their classrooms, and they need to know that if they put in the extra hours required to help everyone achieve, they will be recognized and rewarded at the end of the year. This is all possible without raising taxes by ensuring efficient use of the vast sum of money we already spend.

We need to audit our entire school system, analyze and release the data, and get a firm idea of what is really going on and where the money is going. The education budget has grown and grown yet we haven’t seen much positive result. Then we can push the misused funds to areas that will result in every child having a chance to succeed.

1. I will follow God’s commandment to treat every person with love and respect and will seek God’s discernment in everything..

2. I will hold myself accountable to the Constitution.

3. I will focus my time in office on education to provide desperately needed functional changes to uplift and support teachers and students.

4. I will not be financially or politically indebted to any person or organization. I will only owe my constituents the accurate representation they deserve.

5. I will avoid raising taxes and increasing spending, working instead to increase results-driven transparency and efficiency in our current spending before considering increasing spending.
